Me and my family are relocating to Hawaii. We are a couple with 2 small children (4 months and almost 4 years). I sew clothing and other goods and accessories, crochet, and spin poi, my partner is a carpenter with many years of experience. We play music, sing our own songs, dance, drum, and enjoy spending time in nature. We are a loving family and provide care and stability for each other. We are "green", we eat organic as much as we can and try limit our impact on Mother Earth.
We are planning to move to Hawaii in December and right now we're still open as to what island we'll be living on. It'll either be Kauai or the Big Island. I'm hoping someone can point me in some directions...I'm basically putting it out there expecting to receive all positive things.
I hear the call...

Re: Moving to Hawaii
Sat, October 6, 2007 - 11:38 AMBoth islands have a lot to offer and it really depends on what you are looking for. Maui is super beautiful, but real estate is tends to be expensive. If you want to own your own land, Big Island is the only choice unless you have significant resources.
As far as rainbow family goes, I think Big Island has an edge, we have the annual hawai'i gathering here (next one in January), and many little rainbow-esque gatherings. But there is beautiful community in Maui, I was fortunate to hook up a little with the sufi community while car surfing there.
Good luck,
Benjamin
