Aloha Family
I want to let y'all know about the gathering September 28, 29 and 30th @ the Shire..
This will be an awareness raising and community sharing event, dealing with the very real invasions of homes and families in Puna, due to a plant the earth grows naturally. Testimonies will be shared by individuals who have been affected by this including mothers and children. Many bands soon to be announced. Activism ideas and support by Roger Christie and others. High Times magazine will also be coming to do an article about the event. Any singers, dancers, musicians, poets or other creative souls who want to contribute, share testimony, support or learn can contact me for more info here on tribe or at www.myspace.com/irisohana

  • Hi Iris and friends, see y'all down there.

Today (Friday), very near 4:20pm, Jupiter will be directly overhead, but we won't be able to see it until the sky gets dark enough. The sun sets around 6:30pm. We will see Jupiter set as the moon rises around 8:00pm.

Neptune (extremely dim, near astronomical constellation of Capricornus) will pass the north south meridian around 9:00pm and Uranus (not quite as dim-- near astronomical Aquarius) will pass the meridian around 10:45pm.

Tonight, at 2:15am, the moon will pass the meridian and will be virtually directly over head (very close to the zenith point in the sky) as the ecliptic sweeps through the zenith. Mars, which reaches its maximum East Elongation tonight, will be directly overhead around 5:40am tomorrow morning.

Sunday venus will reach its greatest brilliancy (-4.4 magnitude) as it rises after Mars and before the Sun.

So the stars are lined up-- I heard a rumour of Willy Nelson-- and a marriage on stage... true dat?

Saturday is Michaelmas-- a medieval fall feast for the archangel-- and post-harvest tax time.

    Aloha,
    Benjamin
