hey wonderful family!
my friend and i are going to be flying into the KOA airport on the night of the 14th and we were wondering if there was any family around that area who would be willing to host us for the night and if there is anyone in that area who is going to the gathering who we might be able to hitch a ride with. if you would be able to help, or just have any helpful tips it would be greatly appreciated, as neither I nore my friend have ever been to hawaii and dont know anyone on the island. THANK YOU FAMILY!!!

Re: two kynd souls looking for ride to the gathering (and possibly somewhere to stay prior)
Thu, January 10, 2008 - 1:42 AMGet a good map and check out the hele-on bus schedule... to catch the tuesday bus (Kailua-Kona to North Kohala), you will have to spend the night somewhere. I think the kona airport is between Kmart and Waikoloa Post Office. The buses stop if you wave them down and they have a safe place to pull over.

Of course hitchhiking will probably be much faster.

Thu, January 10, 2008 - 8:19 PMright on, thank you.
i dont really know what to expect, i dont know much about the islands. my friend and i might try and change our flights so that we fly through the night and land in the morning. that way taking care of worrying about a place to stay as we can just sleep on the plane and in the airport. then hitch out from there. from what i hear hitching aint really a problem out there. thank you again, and see you soon.
