This is a little off topic for a rainbow list... but I have to say I have been deeply moved and inspired by the youtube video seen by millions:
Yes We Can Obama Song by will.i.am:
www.youtube.com/watch
Yes we can! I didn't think it was possible, but for the first time in a long time, I have been made proud to be a "merkin" or a "USian" as we are called in international circles...
The music video was based off of Obama's new hampshire speech, the text of which is here:

and the youtube of which is here:

Wow! What a race... Obama is 72 delegates behind:
www.realclearpolitics.com/epoll...t.html
But his momentum is rapidly trending upward:
www.realclearpolitics.com/epoll...1.html
As a technologist, I can vouch that Obama is taking the correct stand on issues that matter in the computer industry such as net neutrality, and the appointment of a CTO for the Federal Gov't. Obama unveils his technology plan at google--
www.youtube.com/watch
Obama is also the only candidate with the guts to go into detail about technology positions on his campaign website, including "Reform the Patent System", "Protect the Openness of the Internet", "Deploy Next-Generation Broadband", "Bring Government into the 21st Century", "Open Up Government to its Citizens", "Safeguard our Right to Privacy", and "Encourage Diversity in Media Ownership":

The election could go either way at this point. It is very possible that Obama could win against the Reagan/Clinton/Bush/McCain dynastic establishment that has trashed america's reputation worldwide...
Hawai'i... we are Obama's birth state, he deserves our full support...
it's not often that Hawai'i can make a real difference in a primary...
with 29 delegates at stake, awarded proportionately... every superdelegate counts!
Hawai'i... please vote vote VOTE on Tuesday, Feb 19, 2008 (the day before the full moon eclipse)
Yes! We! Can!

Re: Barack Obama for U.S. President, my new impassioned support...
Sat, February 9, 2008 - 11:47 PMThis race is so exciting. For those paying attention, Obama is now just 8 delegates behind!
www.realclearpolitics.com/epoll...t.html
I doubt Barack intentionally did this, but he is quoting Hopi/rainbow/spiritual philosophy when he says "We are the ones we've been waiting for."
www.dailykos.com/storyonly...927/451656
Here is the same sentence, the final and most emphasized sentence, in a quote by "The Elders Oraibi, Arizona Hopi Nation"
"You have been telling the people that this is the Eleventh Hour. Now you must go back and tell the people that this is the Hour. And there are things to be considered: Where are you living? What are you doing? What are your relationships? Are you in right relationship? Where is your water? Know your garden. It is time to speak your Truth. Create your community. Be good to each other. And do not look outside yourself for the leader. This could be a good time! There is a river flowing now very fast. It is so great and swift that there are those who will be afraid. They will try to hold on to the shore. They will feel they are being torn apart, and they will suffer greatly. Know the river has its destination. The elders say we must let go of the shore, push off into the middle of the river, keep our eyes open, and our heads above the water. See who is in there with you and celebrate. At this time in history, we are to take nothing personally. Least of all, ourselves. For the moment that we do, our spiritual growth and journey comes to a halt. The time of the lone wolf is over. Gather yourselves! Banish the word struggle from your attitude and your vocabulary. All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration. We are the ones we've been waiting for."

Re: Barack Obama for U.S. President, my new impassioned support...
Mon, February 11, 2008 - 4:12 PMThe race continues, the fate of the nation hangs in nearly perfect balance...
here is one of the attack vectors used against Obama:
Can the Muslim Smear Hurt Obama?
www.blog.newsweek.com/blogs/s...lem.aspx
Yes, the facts don't match the smear... and Obama is no muslim to any degree.
They also say Obama has no foreign policy experience... but how many of our presidents have ever been exposed to and partially educated in a nation (Indonesia) with such an extremely diametrically different worldview from the U.S.?
That is an education you can't get from hunkering down in rooms full of power players, advisers, monitors, and computer screens.
Intelligent people will see that Obama's knowledge of the Islam worldview will be an asset: EXACTLY what the U.S. needs at this pivotal point in history. Evil and ignorant people will spread the rumour that Obama is a crypto-islamic manchurian candidate.
What is Obama's take on this?
"The American people are, I think, smarter than folks give them credit for."
Let's hope so... What this nation needs is some of that good old fashioned Obama-style hope that intelligence can and will defeat ignorance. Because what a dark day when the modern smear of "crypto-muslim" is used against any candidate who doesn't support war against any and every islamic nation on the planet.
It is so McCarthyism.
There is definitely something epic and interesting about this election.

Tue, February 12, 2008 - 2:23 AMHe may be a little more interesting than some -
but he is still a partaker of the Babylon Dream-
and not someone who is talking about a promised land...
Like Dennis and Ron.

Re: Barack Obama for U.S. President, my new impassioned support...
Tue, February 12, 2008 - 4:18 AMDennis and Ron may be wonderful candidates, and I would have supported them if they got to the point where Obama is now, but now they are clearly fringe candidates, and Obama is on the cusp of making history. If you vote for someone besides Obama and Hillary in the primary, you are leaving the hard decision to other people.
Which is... who can defeat McCain?
Obama does talk about a promised land in his famous NH concession speech, specifically in reference to Martin Luther King, Jr:
"It was the call of workers who organized; women who reached for the ballot; a President who chose the moon as our new frontier; and a King who took us to the mountaintop and pointed the way to the Promised Land. Yes we can to justice and equality. Yes we can to opportunity and prosperity. Yes we can heal this nation. Yes we can repair this world. Yes we can."
G-Bm-Em-C, a new folk anthem of positivity and hope.
